This week we would like to present you with a collaboration between realist painter Tanvi Pathare and Dior.

Fine art and fashion meet to create beautiful one of a kind travel trunks!

Tanvi Pathare, FAA Graduate and Principal Instructor, contributed to the world of fashion recently, thanks to her commission from the house of Dior, to take part in an exciting project to create specialized travel trunks to showcase diminutive Dior Couture Autumn-Winter 2020-2021 designs by Maria Grazia Chiuri.

These trunks that house this historically influenced yet contemporary miniature line are crafted in pine with leather and brass elements and are lined in white cotton and linen in the manner of the toiles which each finish dress started life.

The outside design of the box, in which Tanvi Pathare played an integral role in creating, features a hand-painted depiction of the famous facade of 30 Avenue Montaigne, the flagship location of Dior in Paris, France. This project combines cabinetmaking leather working, and painting, all areas in which France, the home of Dior, can boast an exceptional pedigree, and explore the broadened definition of #DiorSavoirFaire required to construct these specialized trunks.
