General Terms
The Florence Academy of Art welcomes all students who have the passion, desire, and dedication for art and all its forms to come and enjoy the experience of studying alongside like-minded creatives from all over the world. The academy endeavors to provide an educational environment conducive to encouraging the artistic talents of each student. All students are asked to respect the policies of the Academy, its instructors, and the other students in the programs and workshops.
Joining a workshop or program is an opportunity that is intended to be beneficial and positive for all involved, and to help participants continue to develop artistically. In addition to the general studio policies, and due to the nature of intensive class schedules, behavior is monitored to ensure the best possible experience for all involved.
By enrolling in the Academy, students agree to the Studio Policies available on the FAA website.
Acceptance & Payment
The FAA Workshop application process begins with the submission of the online application. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Once accepted, applicants will receive a confirmation email with information on housing, materials, and payment.
A non-refundable deposit is due immediately to secure their place in the workshop. The deposit is non-refundable in all instances, regardless of the reason for withdrawal. The remaining balance must be received no later than two months before the first day of class. No refunds will be given for cancellations made after the balance has been paid.
Fully Booked and Waitlist
Applicants who select a workshop marked as ‘fully booked’ will be placed on the waitlist. Should a cancellation occur or a place become available, they will be contacted. Please be aware that due to high demand, some workshops may fill up before availability is reflected on the website.
List of Housing Agents
The Florence Academy of Art can provide applicants with a list of housing agents and hotels located within walking distance or a short bus ride from the school locations, for short periods of stay. By enrolling, students agree to the housing terms available on this website: Housing Terms.
Travel and Documents for Study
All applicants are responsible for obtaining their own visa and/or immigration documents. Students should contact the embassy or consulate in their home country for up-to-date requirements. The Florence Academy of Art is not liable for students who do not receive their visa or travel documents in time to begin their studies in Italy.
Minimum Enrollment
The minimum enrollment requirement for all studio workshops is 5 students. Should this number not be reached, applicants will be notified 60 days before the first day of class and. At that time, they will be given the choice of either enrolling in another workshop, availability permitting, or having their payment refunded.
Workshop Faculty
The Florence Academy of Art reserves the right to substitute instructors for any course at the last minute or during the session. Placement in a workshop session is subject to availability. Where a preferred instructor’s session is unavailable, applicants will be assigned to an alternative session.
