2023 Ceremony Highlights

MA
Graduation

In the third year of their Master of Arts in Studio Art, students have the unique opportunity to study at our campus in Florence. After the Thesis Defence and Thesis Exhibition, the final week culminates in a Graduation Ceremony held on-site in the FAA Gallery, allowing students to celebrate their achievements in the heart of this culturally rich city. It is with great joy that we announce 35 new graduates, all dedicated individuals who will go forth and put to use the Florence Academy methodology in their respective classrooms. Thanks to our MA Program, these educators have attained the expertise to incorporate skill-based methods into elementary, middle and high school settings, ensuring a lasting impact on the education of young students.

Our Community

Our community counts 175 students in Florence, Sweden and the U.S., as well as over 500 graduates from our three-year Certificate programs. Thanks to social media and the alumni association, we stay engaged with most of them, and are proud to know that 78% are working artists, that means during the past year they have either participated in solo exhibitions or group shows in galleries, international salons and competitions, or have formal gallery representation or regular presence with their work on Instagram. Of our graduates, 35% are currently teaching the methodology they learned at The Florence Academy of Art: 58 have started their own atelier style schools or are employed by accredited and non-accredited institutions including The Florence Academy of Art. Finally, 12% are employed in other art related fields like the movie industry and game art.
